Don't worry about installation and driver problems. If you can plug a USB drive into a port, then, chances are, you are ready to upgrade your laptop by using a new mini optical mouse. Given two people, one with a mouse and one with a scroll pad, the mouse user always wins in terms of the number of operations he can perform per second.
